What about this ghost ship Norderney on the Veronica page, have a look at the whole photo:

photo Paul de Haan.
The Norderney in Groningen harbour in 1994. I took this photo from a bridge next to the canal were
the ship was for about a year to undergo another restoration as a socalled disco ship.
EMAIL WE RECEIVED FROM VIEWERS TO THIS SITE.
Look Boden wrote and asked if we could add his name to some photos on the Radio England page.
Look was deejay during 66 and 67 for Radio Dolfijn and 227. The photos Look made during this period
are: Olga now renamed into Laissez Faire, deck of the ship and high voltage aerial box and tender Offshore 1
alongside.
Look Boden launched his Radio 227 site in October 2002: www.radio227.nl

Hey
there:
Just wanted to say how much I'd enjoyed your page.
Can't understand why I haven't stumbled on it before!
I'm a big fan of the fort based stations, and
fascinated in their history etc. Very rare I see
something "new," but you'd got some great photographs
there, and that memo from Dorothy
Calvert...fascinating! I'd love to know what the
tracks she objected to were. Well, I guess when Q65
arrived on the fort she got the "fast moving" music
she wanted!
I was wondering if you had any photographs relating to
radio Invicta-- I'd love to see a decent photo of Tom
Pepper. The only one I have is in Hans' "Red Sands
Rendezvous," but I'm sure there must be more out there
somewhere.
Anyway, congrats on a great site. And y'know, a Radio
City RSL would be great! Bet Bob le Roi would be up
for out. Doubt Paul Elvey would show up though!

So, if anyone has a ,, decent"photo of Tom Pepper, founder of Radio Invicta in 1964, please
e mail us so we can put it on our site.
Here's what Leendert Vingerling , former tenderskipper for Caroline and Monique in the 80s, wrote
from France:
To offer a ,,shaggie" in English is not a very decent offer, it should be: Can I offer you a rolled
tobacco?
De boot is na het zeezenderavontuur vertrokken naar de Kaapverdische eilanden om te worden ingezet voor de visserij. Daar ligt het nu nog. This is where we put the wrong
name to the tender on the Ross Revenge page, Its not de Zeemeeuw but the
Poolster.
Ook de Zeemeeuw is vertrokken naar de Kaapverdische eilanden en doet daar dienst als veerbootje tussen de eilanden. The tender behind the Ross on the RR page is
the Zeemeeuw
Simon is het in ieder geval niet. The deejay in the Caroline Overdrive studio
on the RR page is Peter Philips.
Tot slot de foto van de Monique studio. Die bevondt zich aan "portside" en niet starboardside dus. The Monique studio was on the portside and the Caroline studio on the
starboardside of the Ross Revenge.

August 20,1989. The day after the day before. Dutch boarding party back in Schevening from a fishing
party on the North Sea. Fine gentlemen indeed, but how wrong they were, they couldn't kill the big fish.
Thanks to Leendert Vingerling.
the beautiful Wadden isle Borkum.
Lightvessel Borkum Riff in Borkum harbour, summer 2002. The ship was built in 1955 by Norderwerft
Koser & Meyer Hamburg Germany. This vessel was the successor of the famous Borkum Riff 3, the
ship we know as Radio Veronica's first radio ship between 1960 and 1964.
The number 4 was on position between March 1965 and July 1988 some 30 miles north of Borkum.
Since 1989 she is a museum ship.
Specification of the vessel.
The vessel has a permanent place in this harbour and once every year she is taken out for a trip at
sea by members of the former crew.
the 20 meter high lighttower with a power of 1500 Watt can be seen from a distance of 21 miles.
The man on the gang-board is a volunteer, who stays on the ship for a year.
Welcome onboard.
The bell on the left is the original shipsbell, I forgot to ask why there is a second bell.
What is it they are looking at?
Indeed, the ship's engine, or rather 4 engines, each 100 hp. That makes 400 hp, not much for a vesselof this size, but the engines were only used once every 4 years for a trip to Emden for maintenance.
During her seagoing days the bridge was a centre of activity.
24 hours a day the crew had watch duty.
The state of maintenance on the bridge, infact the whole ship is superb.
Beneath the wheelhouse the three portholes of the radioroom
The companionway on the portside.
The officersmessroom onboard.
Model of old number 1, made by one of the crewmembers.
Borkum Riff number 3, the one used by Radio Veronica
These superb models are on display in the officers-messroom
The radioroom.
Take a good look at the stern of the ship, what a stunning resemblance with the stern of the Ross Revenge.
Finally, the standard anorak question: Wouldn't the Borkum Riff 4 be a superb offshore radioship? Yes, but she is better of as a mueumship.
all photo's Borkum Riff 4 Paul de Haan.
